Sometime last century in an edit suite far, far away (Crows Nest – but thatʼs relative to your starting point ), Writer/Director/ Producer, Mark Leonard met Editor, Matthew Edmond (note; the former does many things, the latter does one thing – properly) and over several hundred commercials and many Rusty Motorbikes*, Seeing Things was born. The aim of Seeing Things was to pursue production projects “out of the ordinary” and in many cases we did just that. DVD Fireplace, DVD Aquarium and DVD Girls Swimming Inside Your Television (aka Sirens)** earned us the accolade of “ so youʼre the guys who did that”. Well and good, but we needed to make money so weʼve also produced series such as “Duty of Care”. Itʼs highly likely that youʼve watched these during OH&S inductions – we have! Weʼve also built production partnerships with entityʼs such as The Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour. We provided the creative and production skills that enabled Centre Video Production to create promotional videos, electronic press kits, television commercials and integrated events for Accor Australasia, Australia Post, The Federal Department of Education and Training, NSW Fish Marketing Authority to name but a few. Yes thereʼs a hell of a lot of work buried beneath that rubble. In 2012 another unique opportunity arose when we were approached to help “build” a weekly indigenous sports program for N.I.T.V. We say “build” because they had a cast and a studio but little else. Barefoot Sports*** broke new ground for the network, integrating field reporting, community stories, comedy and live studio performance into a weekly sports show. An extraordinary experience for us and an association Matt continues to this day overseeing post production on Our Stories Our Way, Every Day for NITV. Currently weʼre embarking on a number of web-cast projects. Weʼll keep you posted on “The Write Stuff” Blog. And did we mention commercials? No we didnʼt because there are FAR TOO many, Have a look!
